Prescription medicine coverage may be part of your Dual Choice PPO insurance plan. Where you choose to have your outpatient prescription drugs filled will determine how much you pay for your medicines. Your pharmacy options are: Kaiser Permanente Pharmacies or MedImpact Pharmacies. You can choose any pharmacy option regardless of the prescribing provider.

In-Network Pharmacies

Kaiser Permanente Pharmacies & MedImpact Pharmacies

Kaiser Permanente Pharmacies

Prescriptions through Kaiser Permanente Pharmacies.

You can fill prescriptions (written by any provider) at pharmacies located in Kaiser Permanente medical offices. You will pay the lowest out-of-pocket costs at these pharmacies. Choose how to fill your prescriptions:

At Kaiser Permanente medical offices. Most Kaiser Permanente medical offices have pharmacies. Kaiser Permanente doctors can send most prescriptions electronically to the pharmacy—or you can present your prescription with your ID card. Visit kp.org/locations to search for Kaiser Permanente pharmacies.

Online. Register at kp.org/register to order most refills online and have the medicine mailed to you.

Mail Order. Mail order prescriptions are available through the Kaiser Permanente Mail Order Pharmacy. Call us at 1-800-548-9809 (TTY 711), 24 hours a day, and have the medicine mailed to you or available for pick up at any medical office.*

Prior authorization of Outpatient Prescription Drugs

Members will need to get prior authorization for certain outpatient prescription drugs. This helps to ensure that outpatient prescription drugs ordered by your doctor are medically necessary, cost-effective, and the most appropriate treatment for your condition.

Access the Kaiser Permanente Northwest Commercial Formulary.

*A program operated or arranged by a health plan distributes prescription drugs via mail to members with addresses in Oregon or Washington. Some medications are not eligible for the Mail Service Delivery Program. These may include, but are not limited to, drugs that are time or temperature sensitive, drugs that cannot legally be sent by U.S. mail, and drugs that require professional administration or observation.

MedImpact Pharmacies

Prescriptions through MedImpact retail pharmacies.

You can fill prescriptions (written by any provider) at MedImpact Pharmacies. You can use any of the retail pharmacies nationwide that participate in the MedImpact pharmacy network.
